The Mobi-Drip Infusion Device delivers very precise doses of medical fluids by applying an accurate, constant and linear isotropic pressure to the fluid which is then infused through the Mobi-Drip disposable tubing line containing a Restrictor designated for the flow required. Since the flow rate is governed principally by Poiseuille's equation, the influence of fluid viscosity upon flow is negligible relative to the Restrictor dimension.
 | There are no moving parts in the Mobi-Drip , instead we use a standard, safe aerosol canister to provide the pressure required.
Although there are other devices already available which also apply a constant pressure to the fluid, they all require that the fluid be dispensed into proprietary fluid containers which are expensive. |
The Mobi-Drip applies a set pressure to a standard "off the shelf" bag of Normal Saline containing the required drug. These 100 or 250ml flexible bags of Normal Saline are already stocked by all hospitals and are therefore inexpensive to buy and simple to have loaded with the required drug.
Although the current development is focused on the infusion of 100 to 250ml of fluid, the concept we have developed can be scaled up to accommodate larger volumes (500; 1000; 2000mls) and can be specified to apply varying pressures or flow rates.
